You have never once opened one of these alone. It goes down on the living room floor, there is an audience, and half of what is inside is spoken for before the lid is all the way back. Almost none of it was ever yours to carry home.

Tonal plum ink on pink, one colour throughout. The front runs a serif lockup over a row of heavy bars and a small arrivals line; the back carries an engraved hard case plastered with stickers — a +238 boarding tag, a CV oval, a landed stamp — under an arc of ten stars, above two lines of manifest type and a stacked serif headline.

Care

Machine wash at 30°C on a gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry low. Iron at low temperature, avoiding the print. Do not dry clean.

Measured flat, in inches. Chest is taken across the front, pit to pit — double it for the full circumference.
